Itinerary: We will meet at Picnic Shelter 2 in Hawrelak Park at 7:00pm. We will have a pre-trip meeting prior to starting our ski tour / avalanche beacon search in the Hawrelak Park area. During our first ski tour lap, we will do a mock avalanche search and rescue, bring your beacon / probe & shovel with a proper backpack. We will finish the ski tour around 8:45 and have a post tour group meeting. The goal of the evening is to test out gear, practice avalanche search skills, get some exercise and have fun.
Prerequisites / Courses Required: none
Required items to bring: backcountry skis (alpine touring skis), skins, poles, alpine touring ski boots, avalanche beacon, probe and shovel, proper backpack to fit all avalanche gear, water, outdoor ski clothes
Health & Wellness Form: This document is to be completed by trip participants & trip coordinators the day of travel to an event as well as every morning of the event.
