Organizer: Tony Symonds/Cory Roffey
Activity Type: Ice Climbing
Difficulty Rating: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Itinerary:
If you are just not ready to put your tools away then this one's for you!
This is a day trip with ice climbing at either Two O'clock Falls or Cline River in David Thompson Country (depending on group preference/conditions). This area offers lots of routes at various levels so there is literally something for everyone! Prior ice climbing experience is preferred, but not required. You must know how to top-rope belay safely and efficiently.
This is an all levels trip run by volunteer club members for:
those who have their own gear or are willing to rent
are able to top rope belay
are looking to get out for some ice climbing
Here is the plan
Saturday, April 11: Meet at the Shunda Creek Hostel at 7:00am (Can book and stay at hostel if desired)
Google Maps Link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/yYpB29G65M6v8R6L6
GPS Coordinates: 52.4975, -116.1141
Address: 321 Shunda Creek Road, Nordegg, AB
Have all your gear and be ready to drive to location. The plan is to sign waivers and be making the way to the location by 7:45 am so we don't get scooped!! We will set up top ropes and start climbing.
We will climb for the day with lots of stoke and safety!
Weather and avalanche conditions will be monitored closely up to the date to ensure safety.
This is the general plan as of now, but may change based on conditions. If you have any questions, reach out on WhatsApp or email (tony.symonds@gmail.com)
Once you are registered we will add you to the WhatsApp group to chat and work out details.
